Days 26 and 27

Day 26 January 26th,

Wow did we get a blizzard, roads closed all over, blowing snow and cold cold cold.  I never left the house but I tried to get a shot of what the wind was like outside the back and front of my house.

Day 27 January 27th

I bargained with Tristan to get a couple shots of him with his gloves and stick, I saw a couple photos like this at the arena, and I figured this is good practice for senior pictures some day.

Days 20 through 25

This was another week of mediocre boring pictures.  Trying to find something everyday to photograph is tough. It was also a snowy cold week and winter is taking a toll on us.

January20th Day 20
I was on the computer eating some popcorn and Emma put her head in my lap because she thought she should get some.

January 21st Day 21
Captured Emma playing in the snow, it was snowing out and wanted to get one of the flakes coming down but wasn't sure how to do it.

January 22nd Day 22
The night before I had picked up all of Emma's toys and apparently she had grabbed them all out of her toy box and spread them around the living room.  It looked like we had a toddler.

January 23rd Day 23
This was taken from my phone on the way home from work again, it was right as the sun was setting and the sky was gorgeous!

January 24th Day 24

I took this as I was leaving the house that night to go out with friends, Emma looked sad that we were all leaving her for the evening, since the boys went to a hockey game.

January 25th Day 25

Tristan's favorite breakfast meal is pancakes, I got up and made these for him. It was a good day, he scored his first goal of the hockey season too.

Day 18 and 19

Day's 18 and 19 were exciting and busy.  January 19th the hockey team had two games in their tournament but I didn't take a single picture of the game itself.  Instead I captured one of the little brothers playing with his star wars lego guys.  He was happy to hold them up and show me.

Day 19 we played for third place and the boys won the game in a shootout, as nervous as the parents were I can't imagine how our goalie and the boys shooting felt.  First picture is the whole team with their trophy.
Then we have Tristan with the goalie who saved 6 out of 7 shoot out shots.

That morning before the game I captured Emma waiting to come inside and she just sat down in the snow on the deck.

Days 13-17

This is what I would call a week of boring pictures, but I still managed to capture something every day.
January 13th This was a busy day at work and Aaron was gone to Bismarck.  I had to go to the store and get Tristan some stuff to eat.  So when I got home I decided to take a picture of my groceries because this is basically what Tristan's diet consists of minus the sea food.  I'm hoping someday we will look back and say remember when this is all you liked.

Day 14 January 14th, was another crazy busy day with absolutely no chance to take a decent pic.  So I took one of my new magazine called Click which I'm hoping helps improve my photography.
Day 15 January 15th, every day on my way home from work I drive over this bridge, and I get to see so many pretty sunsets. So this one I took with my phone, I love the sky.
Day 16 was a blizzard day, school was cancelled and we were having a nasty ground blizzard.  I took a picture of the sundogs, but hope to get a better one before winter is over. The top one was with my phone.  While outside I got the urge to take a picture of my son's snowy hockey net.

Day 17, January 17th, anther Friday with a hockey game at the end.  Captured Tristan having a little computer time after his game which they won.

Day's 10-12

The weekend was a busy one but since it was our first one at home in three weeks we didn't care how busy we were.
Friday night January 10th. was spent relaxing while Tristan was at a sleepover.  The only picture I had the energy to take was the one of my husband on his tablet.  He was busy reading while I snapped away, I'm surprised he let me.

Saturday January 11th was filled with a hockey game, and later that night the PINK concert that I attended with my friend Melissa, Kaylijah and Shayla.  I also managed to take some pictures of my favorite dog that morning.

Sunday January 12th we had another hockey game and it was a rough one.  The boys fought hard but lost 3-1, I captured this one of my sweaty, tired boy as he watched TV.

Day's 1-9

I want to challenge myself in my photography this year. So one of my goals is to do a 365 day project with my pictures.  It is going to be hard to find things to shoot every single day, but I have some great resources to help me out.
January 1st,  I started with my two favorite subjects, my son Tristan and my dog Emma. It was a quiet and cold day at home with my family.

January 2nd
Tristan was playing on his new i-phone and I had come home from work and it was dark outside.  So I captured him doing his favorite thing which was playing on his phone.
January 3rd was a day spent going to Grand Forks ND for a hockey tournament in East Grand Forks, it was a cold snowy drive, which would turn into a blizzard by the end of the day.  We always have time for hockey though!
January 4th was Tristan's 13th birthday, and another day with two hockey games.  They had tied the game the night before and won their two games on his birthday which meant they'd play for the championship the next day.  I bought Tristan a cake at a local grocery store to share with his friends later that night.

January 5th didn't turn out to be the best day.  The hockey team lost in overtime and I realized I didn't take any pictures this day.  I did although take one with my phone that would become my day 5. It was an extremely cold icy drive home and I captured this shot of the sun with a rainbow sun dog with it.  The frost on the car window made it very hard to get the picture.
January 6th was a Monday and thankfully we were back home.  We went over to Grandma's house so Tristan could get his birthday present from them. It was right at sunset and I captured this as the sun was going down.  This was one of the coldest days of the year.
January 7th was sort of a disaster when it came to getting the shot I wanted.  I got home from work and the sky was beautiful but it was soooo cold out and I had an idea for a picture but by the time I coaxed Tristan out to the driveway I'd fallen on my butt and had to snap these quick.  Hopefully by the end of the year I'll learn to show a pretty sky without underexposing my subject.

January 8th brought two pictures.  I had the morning off from work and captured Emma wanting to come in the house, and that evening I made the boys chocolate chip cookies and I love trying to photograph food and make it look like a recipe book.

January 9th was another long day at work and not much daylight left when I got home.  So once again I decided to use Emma and her treats.  Depth of field is one of my favorite effects to play with.
